  • What are your opening times?

    We are open from 15:00 until 01:00 on Sundays and Mondays. On Tuesday-Thursday we are open from 15:00 until 02:00. Fridays we are open from 15:00 until 03:00. And Saturdays we are open 14:00 until 03:00. 

  • How can I make a reservation for a private party?

    You are welcome to call us on 050-850 10 32 or email us at mail@cafethecrown.com or come by our place any day and discuss the options.

  • What is the maximum number of people for a party in the private bar?

    The maximum number for a party is up to eighty people, with seating space for around 30 people.

  • What sort of party can I book in the private room upstairs?

    The private room upstairs is available for birthday parties, graduations, anniversaries, and many other celebrations! The room is also available to reserve for study associations or other groups that would like to organise meetings, pub quizzes or other events.

  • Do you accept visa cards?

    We now accept visa and mastercards for purchases of more than 15euro, but it is possible to pay by cash or maestro and Vpay debit cards for less than 15euro. Our apologies if this causes any inconvenience.

  • When do you have live music?

    We have live music three times a week. On Sunday nights from 21:00 we have a jam session in which everyone is welcome to join with their own instruments or voices. On Monday nights from 22:00 we have a jazz jam session with a one hour performance at the beginning by students from the Prins Claus Conservatorium. On Friday nights from 22:00, our house band plays rock music with rock classics old and new.

  • Are you looking for a new bartender?

    If you would like to work at Cafe The Crown, feel free to come by and apply within. Different times of year we are looking for new staff and perhaps you are in luck.

  • What beers do you serve on tap?

    We serve Hertog Jan and Jupiler pilsener on tap. We also have Leffe Blond, Leffe Bruin and Hertog Jan Weizener available on tap all year round.

  • Is the bar wheelchair accessible?

    The downstairs bar is wheelchair accessible with a small ramp into the bar. Unfortunately the upstairs bar is not accessible by wheelchair as we only have one staircase to access the upstairs.

  • Do you serve food?

    We do not have a lunch or dinner menu, however we serve small snacks such as bitterballen and bittergarnituur along with nuts and cheese.

  • Is it possible to reserve a table in the bar downstairs?

    It is definitely possible to reserve a table in the bar downstairs, if you call or email your request, we can make a reservation on any day for between 4 and 10 people. If you are with a larger group, we recommend that you inquire about our private bar upstairs.

  • Is the bar close to public transportation?

    The train station is a short walk away, about ten minutes, or a few minutes by bike. The Gedempte Zuiderdiep also has various bus lines running through it, resonably late into the night. However if you would like to travel by taxi, you can ask the bartender and they will happily call a taxi for you.

  • What are the minimum requirements to book the private room upstairs?

    There are no minimum requirements to book the room upstairs. For groups that choose to have a bartender, we offer discounted prices on beer, wine and soda. A bartender behind the bar upstairs costs 30euro per hour.
